The company Marina Planning and Development International GmbH (MPDI) was founded in 2006 by Andreas Prey und Alexander Proch in order to open up Kiel for the steadily growing market of mega-yachts. Carlos Goetsch, architect, joined MPDI in May 2007.

With many years of experience as the operator of a yacht harbor and attached shipyard and as the Captain of a mega-yacht, the founders recognized the undeveloped potential of the international demand for luxurary berths. In the long term, utilization of this potential could be the key to unlocking the Baltic region for this exclusive clientele, which would be directed through Kiel.
